ACX Internship 2014-15
ACX Consulting launches Innovative International Internship Programme
Press Release 01/02/2014
Leading UK management consultancy ACX-Consulting based in the North of England, have created a fascinating new internship opportunity for a limited number of under-graduates or post graduates to take their first steps along the road to becoming a management consultant.
HR Director Angela James explained the basis of the concept and how it can create long term opportunities for successful applicants. “Every year for as long as I can remember we receive CV’s and applications from a large number of highly credible and talented individuals looking for an internship. Like most professional service businesses, office space is at a premium and while we may have the work opportunities, we do not always have the physical space to accommodate more than a couple of interns. The creation of a virtual workspace allows an intern to work with us from anywhere in the world, just so long as they have a laptop, a webcam and a fast enough connection. Linked in to our intranet the intern can contribute to and be party to project work without actually being in our offices. We ran a trial project last year with great success, now, for 2014 we will be actively seeking projects which would be suitable for an intern to work on, supervised by a senior consultant. It’s the experience of an internship, but without the use of the office coffee machine!”
Is this as beneficial to an intern as a standard placement? “It’s better than no placement” replied Angela. “The work experience is the same, but without the daily physical interaction with colleagues, instead meetings are done via Skype or other conference channels. It works, and it offers opportunities that would not be possible otherwise”.
